Alberto Del Rio indicted by grand jury

Jose Rodriguez Chucuan, formerly known as Alberto Del Rio in WWE and Alberto El Patron in IMPACT Wrestling, was indicted by a grand jury after being arrested for sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping in May.

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office in Texas, Chucuan was charged with four counts of sexual assault and one count of aggravated kidnapping.

If convicted on the sexual assault charges, he faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. The aggravated kidnapping charge carries a maximum penalty of 99 years in prison. Fines for each could be up to $10,000.

Chucuan will be arraigned on Friday with a trial date to be set for later. He posted the $50,000 bail set for him in May.

According to the police report of the incident, which was reported back in May, on May 3 Chucuan accused the victim of being unfaithful, smashing her phone and attempting to burn her passport.

The attack began around 10 p.m. on May 3 and ended around 2:30 p.m. on May 4. Chucuan attacked her and caused multiple injuries. He also choked the victim and put a sock in her mouth, which inhibited her breathing ability. During the incident, Rodriguez Chucuan sexually assaulted her with his “penis and other body parts.” This sexual activity is emphasized as not being consensual.
