WWE News Bits: New Trademark Filed; News Coming Out Of SmackDown

Back on May 31, WWE filed to trademark ‘SMACKDOWN’ with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. The description is below:

Mark For: SMACKDOWN trademark registration is intended to cover the categories of clothing, namely, tops, shirts, jackets, sweatshirts, hoodies; outerwear, namely, coats; bottoms, pants, shorts, underwear, dresses, pajamas, clothing ties, scarves, gloves, swimwear; Halloween and masquerade costumes; bandanas; championship trophy belts.

News Coming Out Of SmackDown

Drew McIntyre challenged Roman Reigns for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle, which takes place on Saturday, September 3 in Wales.

Ricochet will defend the Intercontinental Championship on next Friday night’s SmackDown against Gunther. This is the first time the title will be defended on television since April 22.

Lacey Evans has been moved back to the SmackDown brand, and has been advertised for next week’s show.

Natalya is the new number one contender to the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. 

Natalya is the new No. 1 contender to Ronda Rousey for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title. Natalya won a six-pack challenge on Friday night’s show. The six-pack challenge also involved Shotzi, Aliyah, Shayna Baszler, Xia Li, and Raquel Rodriguez. Natalya pinned Shotzi to become the new No. 1 contender.  There is no date yet of when and where the title match will take place.
