Former WWE Superstar Dave Bautista told GQ he is done playing Drax The Destroyer after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
“I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him. But there’s a relief [that it’s over]. It wasn’t all pleasant. It was hard playing that role. The makeup process was beating me down. And I just don’t know if I want Drax to be my legacy – it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.”
Bautista made his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in the 2014 “Guardians of the Galaxy” film, playing the character Drax the Destroyer. He is starring in the new upcoming M. Night Shyamalan film “Knock at the Cabin.”
Bautista stars alongside Jonathan Groff (Hamilton, Mindhunter), Ben Aldridge (Pennyworth, Fleabag), Nikki Amuka-Bird (Persuasion, Old), Kristen Cui, Abby Quinn (Little Women, Landline) and Rupert Grint (Servant, Harry Potter franchise).
“Knock at the Cabin” hits theaters nationwide February 3, 2023.
