“WWE: Then. Now. Forever.”

The intro video brings us to a packed arena in Portland for another exciting edition of Smackdown! Chris Jericho’s music hits, bringing out the Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla for the big rematch between him and AJ Styles! We go back to Monday night, when Jericho hijacked MizTV to ask the burning question: does AJ have what it takes to beat him twice? AJ comes out, and he and Y2J beat up Miz for good measure before coming to blows themselves. Back at ringside, Jericho is just looking at the crowd as they chant “Y2J!” and welcomes them to “Thursday Night Jericho!” He’s pumped for tonight, because after two and a half weeks he gets his rematch against AJ Styles right here, right now! I’m so ready for this because as you saw, after AJ punched me in the face on RAW, I respect AJ Styles but I don’t like AJ Styles. Is he good? Yeah, is he great? I don’t know, is he phenomenal? Not compared to me. Who comes into the WWE on their first night and call themselves phenomenal? AJ hasn’t earned that right, I’ve earned it time and time again. I earned it here in Portland in 2008 when I had one of the best matches of my career against Shawn Michaels, a ladder match for the World Heavyweight Championship right here in this arena. That was good, I am good. Am I great? Some would say, but I am the best in the world at what I do. AJ, get in this ring because phenomenal ain’t good enough for Y2J! AJ’s music hits, bringing out the Phenomenal One as we get ready for the big rematch…when suddenly, the Social Outcasts make their way out to the stage! Heath speaks up first, saying the Social Outcasts are about to take Smackdown viral! He says AJ Styles calls himself the Phenomenal One, but you’re looking at the Phenomenal Four! Well, tonight you’re looking at the Phenomenal Three as Bo Dallas is still in the studio working on that album that is gonna KILL the rap charts! Look what we have here, live and in color tonight! Mr. Ayatollah of Rock N Rolla, and Adam Rose calls for a round of applause, but tonight’s headlining act will be the Crimson Werewolf Heath Slater, and the Social Housecats! Curtis Axel says they talked about this, they’re called Axel Rose, but Rose say’s that’s stupid because Guns & Roses is back on the road, so they’re the Social Housecats (and making growling noises as he says it). Heath Slater tells Jericho and AJ, “Welcome to the jungle, baby!” Jericho tells them to shut up, and says these three idiots picked the wrong night to talk all this crap. They’re getting on his nerves! Heath says you don’t call us idiots, that’s one thing you don’t call the Social Outcasts! Jericho responds by slamming his mic on Slater, and a brawl breaks out between the Outcasts and Y2J and AJ! Jericho says he and AJ are still going to fight each other tonight, but right now we’re going to fight you!

Jericho with a delayed vertical suplex on Axel, talking some smack to AJ before tagging him in. AJ hits a snap suplex on Axel, glancing back at Jericho before laying into Axel with a chop and a tag to Jericho, who hits a chop on Axel and tags in AJ. They double team Axel with a double chop before staring each other down, talking smack before Rose hits a hard knee on AJ and tells Jericho to get out. Rose sending AJ into the Outcasts corner, distracting the ref as Slater hits AJ with a right hand. Rose still on top of AJ with a hard clothesline, thrice over in the corner, hitting a snapmare before tagging in Axel who goes to work on the Phenomenal One with a sleeper hold. Styles building to a vertical base, but Axel talks some more smack before AJ hits a Pele Kick to drop the third generation Superstar! Axel gets the tag to Rose, who stops AJ getting a tag before AJ hits a flurry of offense, and Jericho gets the blind tag and gets to the top turnbuckle for a double axe handle on Rose and a shot to Axel on the apron! He drops Slater with a springboard dropkick and a Lionsault on Rose before AJ gets a blind tag in, hitting a springboard elbow on Rose for the win!

Jericho talks to AJ, saying “top that” before walking back up the ramp as AJ is checking for dental damage. Commentary hypes up the big rematch between the two men later tonight, before talking about the crazy week we’ve had starting Monday with the big announcement of Daniel Bryan’s retirement. We see the tweet from Bryan and responses from Brie Bella, Kevin Owens, and other Superstars as #ThankYouDanielBryan continues to trend and later tonight, Daniel Bryan will say thank you to the WWE Universe! Back from commercial, we thank Will Roush for the official song of Fast Lane, “Watch This”! Commentary takes us back to Monday Night RAW, where we see highlights from the contract signing for the main event at Fast Lane. Things quickly went downhill as Brock made his presence felt at the expense of Reigns and Ambrose. Later that night, Ambrose calls out Lesnar only for Lesnar to beat him from pillar to post! Ambrose, the Lunatic Fringe that he is, continues to look for a fight as Lesnar responds with an F5. As Lesnar makes his way up the ramp, Ambrose appears to be begging for even more. Lesnar enters the ring, and Reigns makes his way down the ramp…leading to Ambrose hitting a low blow on the Beast Incarnate! Lesnar is feeling it in the ring as Ambrose leaves, staring down reigns and saying something before showing the pain that Lesnar inflicted. With that, commentary hypes up a rare appearance by Brock Lesnar on Smackdown next week! We see a table in the ring and tables at ringside as the Dudley Boyz make their way to the ring. Up next we’ll find out what’s going on with them, and why they did what they did on Monday night to The Usos!

-Commercial-

Back from commercial, we go back to Monday night when the Dudley Boyz attacked The Usos after the eight man tag match, putting both Jimmy and Jey through tables! Back at ringside, Bubba Ray speaks up saying that the Dudley Boyz made a statement on Monday night! But, it seems the only thing these people wanna talk about is Daniel Bryan. We are sick and tired about hearing about Daniel Bryan. We’re actually sick and tired about a lot of things, aren’t we? Devon says ever since we came back to the WWE, people have looked at us as some sort of nostalgia act. Did you forget that we are the baddest tag team on the planet? The Usos did. Bubba says we came here to add to our legacy! He then addresses “all these tables that you people love so much”…take a good, hard look at them because it’s the last time you’re gonna see these tables again! Gimme the crew, gimme the stagehands, get these tables out of here! Production crew come out to fold up the tables and take them to the back as Bubba says these tables didn’t win nine WWE Tag Team Championships, we did! All you people wanna do is chant “We want tables,” but what you should be chanting is “Let’s go Devon” and “Let’s go Bubba”! What about us? What about the Dudley Boyz? Bubba addresses the table, saying this is the last time they’re gonna hear it. “Devon! Get the–” Bubba and Devon both drop their mics, folding up the table and leaving the ring with it as commentary hypes up the main event of AJ Styles versus Chris Jericho later tonight! Becky Lynch makes her way out to the ring now to join commentary as Sasha Banks is set to take on Naomi, up next!

-Commercial-

Naomi starts things off with a kick to the gut of Banks, who responses with a Lou Thesz press! Banks throws Naomi into the corner, and another one driving her boot into the face of Naomi. Banks with a snapmare and a big slap for the nearfall. Banks stomps the hand of Naomi, clearly in control until Naomi reverses and hits some hard right hands in the corner. After the match we get replays, including the finish! Back in the ring, the ref raises Sasha’s hand as Becky Lynch applauds from ringside. Backstage, JoJo is with the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles. JoJo asks about the attack Jericho did after their tag match earlier. AJ says that last week on RAW he was called a “redneck rookie.” Redneck? Sure, and proud of it. Rookie? No. Jericho’s one of the best in the world, but he sees that Jericho is trying to get him angry so he makes a mistake but that ain’t gonna happen. Tonight, Jericho and everyone else is gonna see why they call me the Phenomenal One. AJ walks off as we cut to the Wyatts, where we see Harper and Strowman and Rowan. Bray walks in, saying “Smackdown…we’re here!” He blows out the lantern, and we cut to black before going to commercial.

-Commercial-

Back in the ring, Bray has a mic in hand saying they send forth men to battle, but no such men return. Home to claim their welcome, came ashes in an urn. An ancient Greek mythology, the war of the Titans was a battle between the old guard and the new for control of the universe. In the end, the Titans were conquered by Zeus, king of the gods. Right here, right now, their mythology becomes our reality. For I am now the king of the gods, and this (pointing to his Family) is my army! You have seen what we did to Kane, what we did to the Big Show, and what we did to Ryback. We have our sights set on ridding the entire WWE of all of its Titans, because we are overdue for each and every one of you to worship a new generation of gods! He hands the mic to Harper, who says that in the presence of the Wyatt Family, even the largest titans turn to mere mortals. Rowan says there’s no point in resisting…bow your heads and accept your fate.! Strowman speaks now, saying the earth will shake, oceans will boil, and darkness will consume all! Bray says the Apocalypse is all around you! The gods of today are ready to take their rightful place, and our wings are covered in scars but we are ready to fly. Because I am the angel of the dirt, the Eater of Worlds, I am Bray Wyatt! And this war against your gods has only just begun.
