WWE Hall of Famer pulled from ECW tribute show

WWE pulled WWE Halll of Famer D-Von Dudley from his scheduled appearance Battleground Champion Wrestling’s “A Tribute to the Extreme” event that took place this past Saturday at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. He also removed D-Von from the Icons of Wrestling convention that was held in conjunction with the show.

According to a report by PWInsider, The promotion received a legal letter from WWE last past Thursday, upset about BCW promoting a ‘Tribute to the Extreme’ at the show, playing off the ECW intellectual property, which is owned by WWE. It was further said D-Von was then pulled from the show, despite, according to BCW reaching out to WWE Chief Content Officer Paul Levesque to get the edict reversed, which was not successful.

D-Von Dudley, who also works for WWE as an NXT coach and producer, was supposed to appear during the match between Bully Ray and Matt Cardona at the show. Both Ray and Cardona are currently signed to IMPACT Wrestling. Ray is in a feud with current IMPACT World Champion Josh Alexander.

The Dudley Boyz (D-Von and Bubba Ray) were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2018.

Below is what Icons of Wrestling wrote on their facebook page last Friday regarding the situation with D-Von.
