CM Punk to be guest commentator for WWE World Title Match at WrestleMania 40

CM Punk announced during Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, live from the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, that he be a guest commentator for the Seth Rollins vs. Drew McIntyre World Heavyweight Championship match taking place on night two of WrestleMania 40.

The segment, which lasted more than 22 minutes, saw Punk teasing that he could be either hosting WrestleMania or be a guest referee for the World Heavyweight Title Match.

Punk also threw insults at McIntyre, by telling him he wears “lifts in [his boots]” and has “shoe polish” in his beard. Punk also told McIntyre to name the person that had “chosen” him (McIntyre) to be the “chosen one” of WWE, told Pat McAfee that he doesn’t watch his show, but he listens Jim Cornette’s podcast and even mentioned The Rock. At the close of the segment, Punk said that he promised to make his commentary for the match with Rollins vs. McIntyre “interesting” with his WrestleMania commentary.

There was one point during the segment where Rollins came out and told Punk to stay out of his way. McIntyre also called out Punk for having to be in rehab all the time, even though he doesn’t drink or do drugs.

Rollins is scheduled defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against McIntyre on night two of WrestleMania 40. Rollins, however will team up Cody Rhodes against The Rock and Roman Reigns in the main event of night one. McIntyre earned his title opportunity after he was victorious in an Elimination Chamber Match which took place back on February 24 in Perth, Australia.

Punk suffered a torn right triceps after taking a DDT from McIntyre at the Royal Rumble back on January 27.
