Backstage reactions on Vince McMahon saying he wants to return to WWE

Fightful Select is reporting there several reactions from the Wall Street Journal report that regarding Vince McMahon facing legal demands from sexual assault victims also notes in the article McMahon reportedly told people he intends to make a comeback in WWE. The WSJ report also states thatMcMahon supposedly said that he received bad advice from people close to him to step down from WWE and he now has a belief the allegations and investigations would have blown over had he stayed in the company.

One talent said the news was “exhausting” and they were hopeful that a second run with McMahon with the company “is in the rear view” despite the positive relationship he had with him.

Another talent said they were concerned for the talent that Triple H re-hired that were cut by the McMahon regime. A WWE higher-up said they were not nearly as concerned noting WWE stock price increased, viewership was increased, and overall morale recovered after Vince’s departure. They further said it would be selfish for Vince to comeback under any circumstances. In conclusion, they added they did not believe that Vince would return to the company despite being the biggest shareholder and still holding voting power in WWE.

A longtime WWE employee said morale increased “tenfold” since Vince’s departure that they don’t believe he will return, whether he wants to or not. Another longtime employee noted they believe that Vince’s family will continue to encourage him to stay away from WWE. The same longtime employee also said they think Vince returning to WWE would do irreparable damage to the brand.

Fightful concluded by saying that numerous office employees, talent and others within the company said that Vince is not welcome back, especially in his previous positions he had held in the company.
