Chelsea Green addresses future, “curse” of WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship

Speaking to Corey Graves and Kevin Patrick on WWE After The Bell, Chelsea Green talked about the situation with the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship after news broke of her tag partner Sonya Deville being injured.

On whether or not management would strip her of the titles due to Deville’s injury, Green ran down Adam Pearce before stating:

“I have gone ahead and contacted my lawyers and I have contacted management, I’ve let them know [the titles] aren’t going anywhere….At this point in time, they’re coming everywhere with me.”

The interview goes on to address the possible “curse” of the titles, which were previously vacated by Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez after Liv sustained an injury of her own, to which Green responded:

“They were cursed, past tense. I am now the woman to change the trajectory of these Tag Team Championships….actually, I have also gone ahead and bought some items to sage [the titles], so you will be seeing that on TikTok. We’re gonna make a new path for these bad boys, and I think I’m the perfect woman to do that.

This episode of After The Bell was released before the 8/14 edition of WWE RAW, which saw Piper Niven make her return to WWE for the first time since the Royal Rumble, forcibly declaring herself one half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions.
