WWE Hall of Famer removed from SmackDown intro

WWE Hall of Famer Edge (Adam Copeland) is no longer in the intro of Friday Night SmackDown.

It was noticeable at the beginning of Friday’s night’s episode that Edge was removed from the intro video that opens SmackDown.

Edge had previously said prior to his match with Sheamus back on the August 18 episode of SmackDown in his hometown of Toronto, that was his final match under his current contract. He also said that his deal with WWE was set to expire at the end of September. Soon after, amid speculation of being AEW-bound, the 49-year-old took social media, noting that he has a new contract sitting in his email inbox.

We reported this past Thursday that Edge has been removed from the list of WWE’s internal roster. There have been several media outlets reporting Edge is believed to be AEW-bound after not signing a new contract with WWE.

There has already been much speculation that Copeland will debut at this Sunday’s AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view in Seattle, WA.
